I’ve had the best luck with Garmin HRM straps. I even had one that was decades old that I needed in a pinch. (When it finally died, I took it apart, and it had a lot of corrosion inside it (somehow) but still kept working until the bitter end)

I use a Garmin HRM-Pro Plus. After my experience with several of their straps, why would I choose any other brand? (I get nothing for that statement, but to dance on the premature death of the Tickr I had)

I DO have an AW Edition, and it’s sketchy as heck getting my heart rate for some reason. No idea why, but it is ‘usually’ quite accurate, but when it’s not, it’s not :unamused:)

one of those YMMV, my H10 was great for 1 year then it ate thru batteries. I was replacing batteries every week. Bought a different HR strap, same issue. Eventually i just gave up. Bought a Tickr and so far so good.

I have a Wahoo Rival and on my road bike the heart rate data is decent, but on my mountain bike, it is often just plain wrong. I still collect HR data on my commutes (as I have no power meter on my mountain bike), though.

My Magene has lived longer than multiple Garmins. I replaced the strap once for $5.

I also bought a Wahoo three years ago as a backup to the Magene, the Wahoo is still in its box.

Garmin HRM Pro Plus. It’s been flawless for a year now. I went through 3 Tickr replacements before I switched to the Garmin. If you go with another Garmin, make sure to go with the HRM Pro Plus because the HRM Pro had an issue where the water resistance was compromised after you change the battery the first time. That issue was solved on the plus.

Going through the same thing right now. Didn’t even make it a full week. About 4 hours

Are you disconnecting the unit and storing the pod studs up? Anyway Touchwood that’s my routine and when I replaced my strap last year its not affected the battery life. I had a TickR before and it was prone to rusting up inside the cups, even with cleaning and failing to read. Wahoo were quite good on their warranty though.

I’ll just mention that I’ve been using a Polar Verity Sense for the past couple of years. It’s worked well. I also have an old flexible plastic non-pod type Garmin HR strap from 2010 that still works fine and that I use on occasion. It quit working once but leaving it open in a warm place to dry out cured it. I had to replace the elastic strap on it at least 3 times so far.

I think my original Garmin hard strap lasted about 7or 8 years. Lol, I used to think it recorded spikes but knowing what I know now about my HR the majority of those numbers were probably genuine :+1:

I recently bought one of these when my Garmin died (it lasted much longer than the Wahoo that preceded it) and the Coospo is working great. Cheap too. First time I’ve used an armband HRM and I like it better than the chest strap.

I switched over to the Wahoo tickr armband HRM. Rechargeable and I love not having the chest strap on any more.
