If you want to even avoid THAT issue, we purchase the “Organic” Gatorade and there’s no crazy dyes (plus the mango flavor is pretty mellow)! https://www.amazon.com/ESSNTL-Organic-Gatorade-Quencher-Canister/dp/B07RTN297T/ref=asc_df_B07RTN297T/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=692875362841&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17635247502060741100&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1020090&hvtargid=pla-2281435180978&psc=1&mcid=77decdd1b3b339308ba0d42a6425607b&hvocijid=17635247502060741100-B07RTN297T-&hvexpln=73&gad_source=1
Is that “mellow” as in mixed full strength like it came in a bottle from the store?
I can handle lemon/lime and the new cucumber stuff at 1/2 strength . I add in extra carbs and salt.
Lookin for a new flavor that won’t make me sick like the fruity stuff.
I do 60g of Gatorade powder and 60g of sugar in a 24oz bottle, plus a little salt. No problem at all stomaching it. I used to use malto, but sugar is cheaper and dissolves better.
Yes, even at the recommended proportions of powder to water the mango flavor is mild (which we both like). Like so many others, we have differing versions that include more sodium for my heavy salty sweating husband, we’ve also found that adding more salt to other overly sweet mixes (I’m looking at you, strawberry Liquid IV!) helps make them more palatable (and encourages us to drink more).
Gatorade makes me sick faster than Skratch does. So I start with two big bottles of Skratch and then alternate between Gatorade and water afterwards, eventually dealing with stomach upset.
But for added sugar, I am a big fan of Peach Rings candy (I get the ones weirdly branded as Crayola). They’re a mix of glucose and sucrose, and they taste great.
Thanks
I bought some and yes at full strength it’s not too bad. If it’s really hot I will prob dilute it a bit.
Dr Alex Harrison thinks it’s 2:1 based on Gatorade saying that they think it’s the ideal ratio. Most commercial drink mixes are closer to 2:1 than 1:1 to have decent taste.
Gatorade, powder or not, mess with my teeth.
I have sensitive teeth and drinking Gatorade is terrible.
I’ve been using GU powder, which isn’t perfect, but it’s way less than Gatorade.
Is Gatorade 2:1 or 1:0.8 glucose:fructose? There does not seem to be consensus on the forum and I haven’t found anything definitive online. Thanks!
On the label first comes sucrose then dextrose.
Sucrose is composed of two simple sugar molecules, glucose and fructose, that are chemically attached to form the disaccharide.
+1 for Gatorade. It’s on most courses. My stomach can handle it. It’s cheap and I like the taste.
