When I put it on the trainer it makes a noise difficult to describe.
I would say a resonating sound sounds like a very soft grinding.
It is not the trainer because I tried with another bike and another trainer and consistently the new frame makes this noise.
It is not the cassette because I tried also with the zwift cog.
The noise is very evident when in low cadence with smaller cogs.
I excluded also the crank because I switched with another and got the same noise.
So I focused on the rear derailleur.
I disassembled it and the only thing out of the ordinary that I noticed is that the connection between the derailleur and the hanger has a little play.
The play is very little. A fraction of a mm maybe.
The frame came with a direct mount hanger. So the derailleur connects directly to the hanger without the B-axle plate in between.
I have no way to try immediately because the only way is to try with the standard hanger but this means I need to install a new longer chain.
Is it possible that this is generating this sound?
About the fan…the noise is noticeable (even if less) when the bike is not on the trainer. So there must be something wrong and being a new bike this is driving me crazy
One other thing to check is to put a bit of grease on the thru axle (assuming it’s not quick release). I had a creak on my mountain bike caused by this.
