Forum & Homepage Dark Mode (Feature Request)

+1. Recently switched my desktop twitter to dark mode - so much better on the eyes!

+1 I don’t like my iPad to be a flashlight looking at the forum

+1 from me too.

+1 from myself too

I’m not sure if this is suitable or not.
When I drag out my telescope I use an app called Backyard Red. It is an overlay that saves your night vision when using a laptop.
It just works.

+1 for me please. I do not see a downside in having the option.

Pretty sure the public have spoken @Nate_Pearson

I have to talk to design and PMs about scheduling but I believe the forum could get a dark mode before the website.

Although they are building a dark mode into the web product side right now. It will just take longer to launch.

I can’t promise dates. Everyone hates it when they get this well laid out execution plan and I jump in and say “HEY EVERYONE WHY DONT WE STOP WHAT WERE DOING AND DO X INSTEAD!”.

In my industry, we call that “getting seagulled.” Boss flies in, $hits on all of us, then flies away! LOL

Being dyslexic… I read this thread as “… drunk mode”

I might try and whip up a chrome extension for Dark Modeing the forum.

I know it is not a full solution, but for iOS users, there is an option called “Smart Invert” in your Accessibility settings.

It doesn’t work with all browsers very well, but it works well with Safari. Using your accessibility settings, you can make it turn on/off by triple-clicking the home button (or the power button on newer devices). To find the option, go to:

  1. Settings
  2. Accessibility
  3. Accessibility Shortcut
  4. Select “Smart Invert Colors”

With the new iOS 13 dark mode, it looks pretty nice.

As I mentioned before, this is not a full solution but it will work for some of you
