Personally I would like to have a limited catalogue of 5 basic workouts (call it “Basic WOs Catalgue”) that target specific capabilities with recommended ranges of duration, rest, intensity, etc. (i.e., Endurance WO, Tempo WO, SS WO, Threshold WO, Vo2 Max WO) This could be in addition to the current mega WO morass.
As you complete any basic WOs a few times and understand your current level of fitness, you alter the WO with WO creator to make it incrementally harder or easier based on TSS or some other variable. It is easier to create your own preferred WO (i.e., warm up time and intensity, rest intervals, % FTP, durations, etc) than it is to look for your one that won’t quite meet all your needs.
When I follow one of the plans, I have started to adjust WOs to suit my needs with WO creator (extend WU, reduce RI etc).
