I’m seriously impressed with the Direto. The Facebook group is a bit of a whinge-fest but no different to other brands. I guess some of the similar accuracy issues are in play with mine too. If I’m not tired and properly focused, keeping a steady cadence means a smooth power line. As soon as I start tiring, the line gets a bit more jagged. Doesn’t seem to be affecting the quality of my workouts.
Only issue I have is that the plastic casing is creaking when I put out higher power. Anyone got any suggestions?
Great thanks.
Yeah I think that naturally you hear about all the problems and all the ones that work fine you don’t hear about. Normal.
I took my Drivo apart last night to apply a small bit of Vaseline onto the two drive belts. The trainer had developed a slight growl/whine at extremely low speed when it was throttling down. It seems to have worked, but I actually wonder if the real issue is the tensioner bearings upon which the belts ride. After almost three full winter/trainer seasons of 6+ days/week of use, maybe the Drivo is nearing its end-of-life?
Just how long should a top-tier trainer last?
In my opinion which is by no means professional in any way I would say it should last for at least 1500h, which means 7-8 years for a medium user (150-200h a year) and 3-ish years for a very active user.
Thought i would bump this thread and hope i am in the right place.
I have just bought a Drivo2 and am having confusing issues which i will lay out in the hope to see if it can be sorted.
When i connected to the MyEtraining app and found the drivo it went to a screen tht said please start pedalling and update in progress, after 10 minutes of pedalling nothing had happened so i went to the next couple os screens and was told it had connected. I did a ride in the app and things seemed ok
It comes with two months of Kinomap so i decided to use that. When i connected to the app the drivo would make some whirring noises and grind to a halt(unable to push pedals). I f i stopped it would loosen up but after three or four turns it would stop again. I managed to do a real ride of Box Hill in London and at the start it has some hills however the pedalling became so hard to do that i could not turn the pedals. I was stuck in a loop of stop pedalling to get it to back off resistance to having it almost lock up on me.
I have read through this and many other threads about doing the proper configuration which i tried to do this morning but the MyEtraining app did not recognise any bluetooth connection so i was unable to get it to connect so in the end i did a 25 minute free ride of 90rpm small ring middle of rear cassette.
Because you cant pair the bluetooth with your phone as elite says let the apps do it i cant ever tell if the connection is even there. This always happens at 5am and i don’t have time to try and sort it out before leaving for work.
i am thinking that i will delete all the apps from my phone again tonight, then i will have to consider sending the unti back i suppose
on the plus side i am kind of doing double sessions given that i ride in the mornings and evenings trying to get it to work correctly
I have apps on Pixel 2XL which is fully updated
Thnaks for help in advnce
Wish I’d seen this before I bought mine.
When I was having the exact same issues with this as I did with the Wattbike Atom in ERG mode, I decided it must just be something to do with my technique, but the fact they’re both mentioned in this video speaks volumes.
It’s got to the point where there’s just no point me trying when it comes to microbursts. Anything <30 seconds is completely pointless.
Never had these issues with my cheapo wheel-on trainer.
