The new Domane is interesting, but know that that is notably heavier than the prior models. Just rolling it around the shop and short rides in the lot show it to have a nice ride, but it is a bit of a beast compared to my Emonda (which I realize is a massive difference). But even when doing a quick side-by-side on the 2019 Domane, the weight is noticeable.
I worry that they have taken a previously great bike, and tried to make it too much of everything (comfort, aero, all-road). Comparing to the options in our shop, I’d take the 2020 Roubaix with no hesitation between the two.
