Put a few wraps of duct tape around your seatpost. Works great as an emergency boot.
Also handy to have on the trail / road because duct tape fixes anything. 
I use Gorilla Tape and a few different sized pieces of old coffee bags I’ve cut up.

I put it around my pump … with limited success. I haven’t needed it that often and do you know how hard duct tape becomes when it is been sitting for a while? 
These work a lot better for tires. Duct tape is good, but push come to shove, a dollar bill will hold up quite well. Pretty good paper in that stuff.
