Different training method on different season


I didn’t find any previous discussions about this, that I had in mind:

During the wintertimes here in Scandinavia, I’m riding TrainerRoad training programs: Sweetspot and build phase & so on. Mostly tempo/hiit.
When the summer comes, most likely I will switch most of my rides on Z2 & Occasional intervals/hill climbing. (70/30ish)

Does these go together? Do other users train the same way? Do you find it effective? Options, thoughts.
