My front derailleur (Shimano 105 Di2) has stopped shifting. It makes a loud wirring and clicking noise and moves slightly before returning to it’s original position. Is this a known issue?
Servo motor issues are known. I had to replace my grx di2 front mech. My mechanic recognized it was on its last legs and advised replacement.
Are they easy to replace? Buy a new one and plug it in, or is it more complicated than that?
You can try to lubricate the pivot if you remove the plastic backing. The 105 di2 is not as well shielded from stuff like the Ultegra/DA ones.
Really easy to replace, just unscrew the old one, plug the new one in & adjust it. (pro tip, si.shimano.com has manuals that give good walkthroughs of pretty much any part they make & can save you some time trying from trying to hunt down the right youtube video / blog)
