I just purchased my first way too expensive Bib shorts. the Manufacturer states to wash in Gentle wash and only use liquid detergent. (i usually use powder) . I"m just wondering what brand liquid detergent people are using and like.
I use Perwoll Renew Sport for all my sports / active wear. It is the best I have found.
It really keeps my stuff fresh.
This is excellent and much cheaper to get through Amazon in the larger container than the smaller bottles of sports detergent typically sold in stores. Works great for Gore-tex gear and pretty much all other sports clothes. I also like it for microfiber clothes.

per laundry tok, tide free and clear is your friend for sports wear. Also no fabric softners- its just oil that traps odors in your clothing. If you want scent, scented rinses are the way to go.
I second TideFree . Med spin. Tumble on low in the dryer for 10 min then hang dry.

Any decent liquid works for me. I do not use the dryer for my cycling kit. Our front loading washing spins it damn near dry and I hang it and let it air dry indoors. NEVER use softener as it destroys the wicking properties of the fabric. If you have problems with persistent odors, borax or oxiclean kills germs and odors.
From what I’ve read, these can be harsh on synthetic fabrics like spandex. It might be better to use baking soda, as it’s gentler and still gets rid of odors.
Yeah. Not something to use regularly. I just use it to nuke persistent problems. I just looked it up and it seems Oxyclean is safer than borax.

I honestly don’t why anyone would pay for spendy, special sports washing detergent. I’ve never harmed a pair of shorts or a jersey in regular detergent.
What I do use is a lingerie bag and then hang to dry (of couse).
Congrats. Regular Tide for me but about quarters worth for a load. Truly need a fraction of the recommended amount. Always hand dry, out of the sun.
Non-bio with my sensitive skin. I wash them (and any clothes I care about) in washbags to protect from zippers, but apart from that no special treatment. The clothes washing is my job in the house, so I do make sure cycling gear is washed fairly promptly, not sat in the basket for days.
I always hang dry (but we don’t have a dryer anyway).

We use All Free and Clear, hang to dry. Wash the bibs inside-out to make sure that the chammy gets clean.
