Coming Soon: Endurance Built For Real Gains šŸ’Ŗ

Sorry don’t work for TR so can’t answer anything like will a legacy version be available or not, I thought you were asking about this specific feature.

As someone else noted this won’t impact devices or your bike computer. This is mostly all just related to how it schedules your training plan and or picks your up coming workouts. The stuff that is handled via the online calendar that sort of thing. All the apps whether that be browser or desktop will update in that regard the same way they have always just updated in the background. You needed an internet connection before every so often so that the apps could check in and make sure your account was active so that will likely remain and that is when you’d see the new features pinging the server and doing the ā€œaiā€ things.

I imagine there’ll be extra toggle switches in the account settings. Turn them all off & you basically have legacy TR with static plans.

no problem,
So I expect future problems in transition as before. Thanks.

Many users are beta testing this for them and they are actively working on fixing everything anyone finds.

@BineRepse in other threads TR has indicated they are trying to release in the next day or two, but are working through some must-fix bugs.

@mitch5albert in other posts TR has said that existing users will have the option to use the new system via the Early Access toggle, but new users will be onboarded directly into TR AI.

The emails say subscribe now and get the features when released. They are pretty clear that they are coming soon.

This sounds great! It would have been very useful last summer! :joy:

So, admittedly, this is a guess, so might be a wrong answer, but…I’d be very surprised if TR is planning to maintain two totally different versions of the software long term. From a Support perspective, that’s a nightmare.

TrainerRoad AI and AI FTP Detection - #9 by Nate_Pearson?

From everything TR has said it sounds like soon.

reasonable answer. I understand but I just never like being on the ā€œcutting edgeā€ of new software.

There are some long term users probably also friends of staff that for previous releases have been given access to things before they even announce public beta testing. Nate mentioned when they opened up the public beta that they had some testing it already.

No. Everything is written in present tense. ā€œSimulation window gives youā€¦ā€œ and not ā€œSimulation window will give you..ā€

I understand there are problems and bugs. I understand texts are written and will be used also in future as features will work flawlessly. But I subscribed 2 weeks to soon.

Yes, I read it now. Not before I subscribed.

Closed beta has been at least since September…

This sounds great. I have a training plan set up starting on Jan 5 so far without the AI bells and whistles. My TSS over time stays steady, and doesn’t reflect the increase in TSS required for a big one day event, and no way to indicate the kind of duration/volume increase to get me ready.
Will TR AI have some way of me telling it how big my event is, and it will work out how my volume needs to grow over the training period.
Excited to see this when it launches!

Yes! That is my question also. have a plan set up and it shows no real increase in CTL. I know from past experiences What I need my CTL to be to have a good century ride. The plan that has been set up shows no gain in my CTL throughout the whole plan.

Funny how I’ve seem this as a problem the past year.

And in my latest training plan, i’ve just adjusted the weekend rides to default to a min 2.5 hour endurance ride, just to adapt to my needs. Compare this to the default 1/1.5 hour ride recommended.

Ultimately it still comes down to how many hours you are able to or willing to put in. The AI isn’t going to override the constraints you yourself set.

Yeah i get that - but in terms of building TSS and volume - it would be good for TR AI to know where i’m headed and to build the volume as I progress. The rule of thumb used to be an additional 10% a month or similar - how does TR AI handle that progression?
