Beautiful looking bike. Screams “Long ride please!”
Specialized Venge. Launched in 2011 (I think), for me it really kicked off the trend towards aero road bikes that can also climb, descend, etc. Has it all - innovative design which many have followed, legendary rider on board (Cavendish) and a boatload of GT stage wins.
I admit I don’t know much about MTB and gravel, so this is really the road/TT bike of the decade!
Yeah, it’s a fat tire road bike that is awesome for big rides on any surface. Room for 700x42 and 650x50. Pretty much road geo.
Wasn’t that from last decade?
Awesome bike though.
Any bike good enough for Sam Hill is good enough for… anyone else.
You might be right. Now I feel old ![]()
I’d pick ether a Pinarrello dogma f12 with dura ace di2 9150 groupset, or a trek madone slr 9, sorry about the spelling this was posted In a rush becuase I have places to be
Do you remember about where (time wise) they talked about the warbird? (Want to share it with a friend and can’t listen to the whole thing atm)
So if I recall they talked about rider then races of the decade first. So after that
maybe 15 - 20 min
You could also say “Buffalo Bike”, that helped thousands of less privileged children to get to school on daily basis.
I was going to write-in Cervelo P3 until I realized that Dave Zabriskie’s 54kph tt happened almost 15 years ago!
Instead I will write in the Citi-Bike as my bike of the decade.
Ps, the Warbird is great too.
Cannondale CAAD series and the Specialized Venge.
The CAAD proved that you can have affordable speed and scalpel like handling that STILL a decade later hangs with the big boys. The Venge (and maybe the Cervelo S3) kicked off the aero arms race that has rewritten how frames are basically designed for road racing.
Kona Process 111?
I know absolutely nothing about mountain bikes and what innovation has occurred over the last 10 years but that looks like something I would want to ride downhill.
What makes it bike of the decade?
- Did it introduce a new concept?
- Cult status?
- Influence the market?
- So good it has not changed?
Surly Pugsley?
The Process 111 set the stage for the “fun” 29" MTBs out there today. It had short travel and big wheels like a cross country bike, but more relaxed geometry. I don’t know if it was actually the very first to do this, but it definitely had cult status for doing so. Everyone that had one seemed to love it
The first generation GT Grade. The original quiver killer. ![]()
