I bought the ZAGG Ultra 2 protector. Installation was interesting. I followed the instructions, and had two opposite corners with bubbles. Through constant pressure, I was able to get them all out, amazingly. It worked great, and I liked the titanium look on the midnight watch too. Then last night: BIG BUBBLE on a corner I had no problems with. I tried the pressure, nope. I took it off, re-cleaned the whole thing and nope, same bubble.
Not sure if they are only sold at Best Buy (Worst Try?) but the initially refused to return it, said I had to call ZAGG directly. It had been less than 3 days, thinking that old regulation was still in effect. Nope, deal with them, but as I was walking out, the cashier said ‘Hold on, I’ll do it for you anyway’. Yep, back on the credit card..
Just in case someone is looking for ‘protection’ for their Ultra Screen, my experience wasn’t exactly ‘great’.
Has any one else gotten an Ultra screen protector that works? (I’ve got a couple scratches in the titanium around the watch face. (YIKES)
I’m having the same problem? Did the replacement you got work better?
I got these ones for my Apple Watch Ultra, no issues putting it on and has been scratch free for over a year now. Zero bubbles etc.
Honestly, I forget that it’s even there!
I took the kindness of the cashier who refunded me the cost.
The problem with buying that brand from Worst Try is that customers can’t get a refund from them, Best Buy is apparently contractually bound to direct us to the company itself, and we have to appeal to them to get a refund. I’m sure that if I had approached them for a refund, I would have either been denied, or placed into a loop with Best Buy to repeatedly try to ‘make it work’.
I don’t know if the rule/law/regulation that we have three business days for a refund on an item still exists, but if it does, we are apparently signing away that ‘right’ to deal with a front corporation for a Korean entity that has no need to deal with the customers of Worst Try in a fair or equitable manner. It makes me want to buy less products from certain vendors (at a higher price) if I think they might fail.
Not to get me wrong, some ‘store brands’ are great, above and beyond national brands, but some aren’t. I followed all the instructions, cleaning the watch, de-dusting it, and it didn’t work. (I think it’s the shroud that covers the top area of the watch that was the issue, not a great fit?)
But ‘we’ often sign ourselves up for binding arbitration and sign away our rights to sue for damages, so maybe we (I) signed away my right to get a refund for a defective product, and if it’s that easy for a corporation to shield themselves from crappy products, we are all at the mercy of whatever company that sells the product we are screwed by. Ahh, Capitalism: The ability to sell your under-designed crap to the most people for the most money and protect your profit from accountability.
I’m so glad the cashier ‘did the right thing’.
The product I had, had a ‘shroud’ that went around the top vertical side of the watch face. Perhaps if it didn’t have that feature, it might have worked better.
Ahh right, yeah, the one I got was just completely flat, and covered the screen. Nothing on the sides.
I’ve been using my Ultra 1 since it was released without any kind of protection, and the screen is still flawless.
Those sapphire screens really do perform as advertised, imo.
I do have some scratches on the titanium body, but they just add character.
But keep in mind that the sapphire crystal has a ‘grain’, kind of like wood, and will fracture/shatter if hit on that grain. I’ve done it. Not meaning to sell people on those screen protectors which I’ll really have a hard time doing in the future, but it’s all down to luck. My luck ran out with a TAG Heuer Carerra watch (OUCH!!!). Just happened to hit it on the grain and it sure did shatter.
