And now Buycycle apparently is low on boxes to ship bicycles!
I’ve purchased a bike, the seller can’t be sent a box in a timely fashion and will be leaving on holiday, because of that I won’t receive the bike until sometime in mid to late June!!
that and they’re so desperate to make their percentage there’s no way to actually speak to the seller as you can only communicate through their message system.
There is an easy way around their algorithm that doesn’t allow any message information that might contain any type of contact information so I actually was able to speak with the seller in another country.
I’m sure lots of people have good experiences but my experiences with them have been terrible and I will do everything in my power to work around their system anytime I can.
I also find their fees high. They’re a great tool for searching, but you can find the same items much cheaper if you stumble on the same sellers on different platforms
Yes but never fired as a buyer bc their biz model is built on a US shell address (formerly AIG offices) I work in IR/PR and this co. Is built on a house of cards - my note to the founder -

Hi Theo,
I’ve been following buycycle’s impressive Series A growth and your expansion into the U.S. market with interest. As a public relations and investor relations professional with nearly two decades of experience, and as a former Division 1 athlete who relies on high-performance gear, I value the “trust and scale” your platform aims to bring to the secondary market.
However, after performing a deep dive into several current U.S. listings, I’ve noticed some significant friction points that I believe warrant your attention as you scale.
Specifically:
Information Asymmetry: We are seeing a pattern of “Top Sellers” (largely concentrated in Carson, CA) who are unable to provide material technical specifications, such as frame geometry or specific component history, often responding to buyer inquiries with further questions rather than data.
Reputational Integrity: The prevalence of high-star ratings devoid of narrative reviews or technical feedback creates a “hollow” reputation that can feel predatory to the high-net-worth, “disposable income” demographic you are targeting.
Brand Consistency: There is a growing delta between the premium, “Munich-engineered” brand promise and the actual customer experience on the ground in the U.S.
I’m sharing this because I believe in the circular economy mission buycycle represents, but as an IR professional, I know how quickly these systemic data gaps can turn into reputational liabilities during a growth phase.
I’d be happy to share more of my forensic findings. - M
No they never “launched in the US” they are HQ in Germany and use 80 Pine Street NYC address as a shell. It’s laughable I worked in Investor Relations many years ago in NYC during the financial crisis and that address used to be AIG offices but now? Its has tenants in apt construction and steam construction. Point is BC uses this address as a data sink mail box with Zero bike shop customer service.
