So, I am going to Nova Scotia this summer and can’t find any good trails near where I am staying (Church Point) on any maps, and the few that I have found, I can’t bike on. Does anyone know of any good trails withing ~20kms of there? Don’t care if it is fairly flat or if it is a dead end, just need somewhere to ride. I contacted the visitors center and they had noting, but provided two trails with unknown conditions (but they were both less than 50m and were segments of a bike race they held annualy before covid).
A regional page would probably yield better results. Have you checked heatmaps on Strava?
I have not, but no trails have appeared on Komoot which is open sourced and is the alternative option offered by apple next to Strava on their heath app.
I’ve been to Church Point a few times and I’m actually planning to go again this year to ride the Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie — such a great area for riding.
The roads around there are surprisingly quiet compared to where I live, so you should feel pretty comfortable riding. If you’re looking for paved roads, I’d definitely recommend Highway #1. It’s well maintained, has a great shoulder, and runs through some beautiful Acadian communities.
I have heard it is quite nice and I will definetly be riding it a ton, but I am looking for something a little more offroady. I probably should have added in my original post that I am looking for good MTB trails in the area. My bad, but thanks for the suggestion.
