@eddie Are there plans for the AI algorithm to take into account temperature? Or something in the post-workout survey to address it? I’m in an area that can experience temperature swings of 20 degrees F from day to day, and what could be an “easy” endurance ride changes to moderate or even hard depending on the temps/time of day the workout happens, or a fail of a scheduled hard workout. I don’t see where the app records temp for indoor workouts, but I know the outdoor could grab them from the head unit. Maybe it’s just me, but temperature makes a huge difference in perceived exertion, seems like a beneficial add for TR to incorporate.
I know this is something that’s been discussed, but I don’t know exactly where we stand on it at the moment.
For the time being, I’d definitely recommend throttling your efforts based on RPE when the weather is hot.
If your easy ride is starting to feel hard due to the temperature, don’t be afraid to back off slightly to keep your RPE in check. The most important part here is getting the right training stimulus.
The same goes for those hard workouts. They should very rarely feel like true all-out efforts, so try to keep them in a place where your chance of “failure” is really low.
As always, answer the post-workout surveys honestly, and things should balance out over time. I’m assuming there is some variance in power output from day to day, but not enough to really damage your training.
Oh, and try your best to stay cool! Pre-chill your hydration and do whatever else you can to keep your core temp in check!
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply, yes all those suggestions make sense. I was just wondering if the devo team had something in the works.
Thank you!
Similar would go for altitude adjustment - if all of a sudden you are going to do a workout at 6000ft in a few days, sure would be a different prescribed workout than at 800ft, would be cool to input that into the ‘Planned time of workout’ maybe. @Elevation 6000ft @Temperature 92°
Or if it was a planned outdoor workout it would pull in weather forecast (and elevation) of local area (TR App track location of user) at starting time of workout. LOL oh we can dream ![]()
Similar to how Garmin adjusts the reported vo2max estimates of a workout if you are not heat acclimated at all… when you workout in the heat for the first few times, it doesn’t overract and lower Vo2max or Threshold info. Also tracks elevation acclimation on watches.
