Hmmm, seems slacker than I would expect. Was hoping to see S sizing, but looks like the XL got a bit bigger which might work. Liking the adjustable geo though. I really wonder who would be riding an epic with a sub 66 degree HTA though. With the blur being such a success seemingly so much steeper.
With the Epic FSR going to 120mm, I’m sure the Evo is moving up next year. But I’m more excited for the aluminum version that is in the works…
No rumours of an Epic HT?
It turned into the WC
Jenson is blowing out XC forks BTW. I just picked up a 32 Stepcast for 60% off for my kids bike. It was the same price as a used/takeoff Reba.
I would have posted it here if it was active for long enough, but I got a 34 SC 120 Performance for $300 from Jenson. Don’t know if it was an error or they only had a few, cause it wasn’t up for long. But I got mine.
That’s a good price. I’m laughing looking at Fox’s prices because the 34 is $100 more than the 32. How does it take more $$ to make a 34 over a 32? It makes sense to buy one if you think you might use it because you can resell it for $450 on PB if you don’t need it.
For those who have been on the Allied BC40, how had it held up for you?
Any issues?

Thank goodness the 120mm was already sold out. I don’t need it, but I would have bought it to match my dropper post.
don’t think we can ever trust Yeti to make a decent XC bike, just not what they do. I might be wrong, but I doubt it!
Hard to say, in hindsight the SB110 was pretty good. The SB115 I think is a nice bike, but not pure XC.
I’d love to see them modernise their geo a bit (a bit longer, and lower, and ~66-67°HTA).
I live pretty close to Yeti HQ and have done a few demos at their lunch ride route at Apex and I always really like how they ride. The SB100 somehow felt plusher than my Oiz TR (older model, not latest gen one) even though my Oiz had 120mm of travel. They’re always heavier than a proper XC bike, but they’ve never felt sluggish to me on climbs.
For all that, I couldn’t bring myself to buy one even when they were making more XC oriented bikes. Just never felt they were competitive on value and weight compared to alternatives. I always call it paying the Yeti Tax.
My Trainer has given up after 4 yrs
so on the markert for a new mid range one.
Is £649 for a Tacx Neo 2 Special Edition Smart Trainer a good deal or is there anything better for a similar ish price.
I’ll likely get one if they’re sub 25lbs… Love a Yeti for better or for worse. Their entire new lineup is underwhelming to me and I hope they can pull something sweet together on the xc front
Maybe new ASR…
That’s my bet. I couldn’t get any details out of people but talking to some employees I’m positive it’s a new XC bike. What the details are, is anyones guess but I’m excited to see it along with the Epic/Epic Evo update (renamed Epic 120 and 130)
I’m kind of worried that Specialized might intentionally neuter the Evo in some way to push people towards the Epic WC.
It really is shockingly light for how capable it is today. I’m concerned that they’re going to make a burlier version that’s more downcountry focused instead of a bike that is light enough for proper marathon and and XC but also can survive chunkier trails reasonably well.
Does it matter though if the Epic becomes what the Evo is now?
It looks like, by the rumours, they are just eliminating the 100mm version as they realised that the Evo is both a better race, and a better trail bike.
I also feel the same about Yeti, bikes, and pricing. I do think this new bike will be close to the level as other new xc bikes.
