Perfect. Thank you!
My new bike (scott spark rc evo) is comming with XX1 Eagle crankset⌠and as far as I understand it is 3 bolt?
Os there any way to use quarq PM with them?
The XX1 Eagle crankset can be used with Quarq PM spider.
See also the images in the previous posts.
I taught that XX1 cranks comes with 3 bolt system and Quarq supports only 8 bolt system and that is the reason why there is specific XX1 Quarq cranksâŚ
Unless theyâve changed it, Iâm pretty sure youâre right. The XX1 crankset is 3-bolt (Iâve purchased one previously).
When I added a quarq power meter to my new spark, I have to purchase a specific 8-bolt XX1 âcrank assemblyâ.
Could it be possible they have two different versions of the crank arms?
I have these crank arms and they are compatible with the PM.
They make an 8 bolt.
If yours are 3 bolt they might physically fit the spider but your power meter readings will be fucky.
True. Mine are 8 bolt.
Probably not the answer youâre looking for but I would second (or thirtieth) the recommendations above for a P2M if you have a 3 bolt crank. Iâve had excellent luck out of 2 of them on MTBs.
Correct, SRAM makes XX1 cranks in both variations. Itâs insane.
Definitely confirm which cranks come with your Spark before buying a PM! If 8-bolt, itâs hard to beat the Quarq. If 3-bolt, you wonât go wrong with P2M or Sigeyi.
I have a Cannondale Scalpel SE with a stock Truvativ Stylo 6K 32T chainset. What would be the best way to go for a power meter please? I donât want pedal based for the reasons others have cited!
Power2Max or Sigeyi for SRAM 3-bolt. Boost or non-boost depending on your bike. Oh, Scalpel SE. So boost. Then get a chainring to match the PMâs BCD.
It is not available from the dealer with a lockout, but there is routing built into the frame should you want to change the shock and have a lockout. I also donât recall there being extra cups for head angle adjustments.
Yeah thatâs the xx1 8-bolt crank arm assembly that Iâm referring to.
The xx1 crankset, that comes with a chainring is 3 bolt as far as Iâm aware.
So, youâre right in that they make 2 versions of it, but I think the 8-bolt flavour only comes as crank arms, without a chainring, and is meant for use with the quarq power meter
Whoâs running Wireless Blips?
Per @Jonathan IG story, I had also looked at the Leap Blip as a super tidy solution for shifting (my idea was to mount one on the topside, and one on the under side (thumb for downshift, finger for upshift).
I thought you still has to have the blip box though. Can you run the blips on their own once youâve paired them?
I used a blip on my previous spark to control the axs dropper.
The ones I have definitely need the blip box (I had it under the stem). Im not sure if there are different kinds types now though
You can run the wireless blips stand alone after pairing.
Unless theyâve updated very recently, the wireless blips cannot yet control an AXS dropper, they canât provide a continuous signal (only âblipsâ)
Which is crazy considering they promised that was coming in a firmware update when the blips first came out.
Agreed, itâs been annoying as I have a 27.2 AXS dropper waiting to go on my di2 gravel bike and ran what I intended to be a temporary blip button/AXS remote combo on the MTB all last season.
