He didn’t say anything bad about the bike. Every time I’ve built a bike you have to sort through the little issues. Are Scotts sold direct to consumer? You’d think the local shop would be sorting out most of these issues?
@Matt2380 just to be clear, the performance of the bike is fine. What @rocourteau said is how I feel as well.
Have you considered switching the seatpost to one with no setback?
It does not look like a round post - so is this Scott- or model-specific? If so, are there offset options available?
@AJS914 this was put together by the shop. The top cap was pointed out to me and they are seeking clarification from Scott as I type. The FD on the other hand I agree should have been adjusted correctly. Not a big deal. I like working on my bikes and actually think it’s important to know every little aspect of your bike so this was cool to figure out.
The saddle I had no intention of riding. But, the rail placement is something I’ve never really focused on as something that can change your reach by 2cm. I was just passing on what I learned.
Anyways, I’m making this more critical that it reads perhaps. Everything will be perfect soon.
@bclarkson yes. On order arriving Thursday.
@rocourteau it is a Syncros/Scott post yes. Non-round. Sort of D-shaped.
Understood and I didn’t articulate that well. The comment on the Sram powermeter was known previously and I understand it takes some time to get dialed in.
Really appreciate you sharing your early feedback since I asked for it.
I’m still trying to figure out how roadies put that much pressure on their hands/wrists for hours on end.
Touche. Like wearing no socks?
My last bike was a Allen junior it is really fast and reliable you will love it
