Could I have some advice on saddle positioning on the bike? I’m just at the beginning of my TrainerRoad journey and am really keen to nail technique, but I’m having a hard time visualising what it means to keep the sit bones anchored, as in the in ride text. I’ve uploaded a little cartoon on the two positions I find myself keeping:
- When I’m trying to keep my sit bones secure on the bike (see left in the attached), I push my hips forward and activate my core. I also seem to subconsciously push myself away from the handlebars, which sometimes makes my shoulders tense.
- The other position (right in the attached) tends to put more pressure on the saddle, but stops me from slouching.
Which one (if any) is a better way to position myself? I’ve had a good bike fit, and I’m fairly certain that my saddle positioning is correct .
