But 6.8kg is a UCI rule, if your local federation doesn’t carry that rule it’s not cheating. Having said that, maybe all national federations do carry the rule across, I don’t know. But sub 6.8kg doesn’t necessarily equal cheating.

We know, this point has been raised, and yes, if your race series doesn‘t have a weight limit, go for it if that‘s your bike of choice. But if there is a weight limit and you knowingly don’t adhere to it, it is cheating. I‘m saying that as someone who thinks many UCI rules, including their weight limits are constraining road bike manufacturers unnecessarily.
PS The “even if they don‘t” did not refer to the existence of a weight rule, but the race organizers checking the weights of bikes prior to races.
