Quarq Riken (ANT+ only) With A Dumb Mag Trainer

I use an old dumb mag trainer and load the workouts to my MacBook Pro. I have been using a bike with a Quarq Dzero (Bluetooth) flawlessly. However, I just rode my TT bike for the first time in a while and need to train on that more. Problem is the TT bike has an older Quarq Riken which is only ANT+ compatible.

Is there a way to use the Riken+dumb trainer+MacBook Pro? If yes, what do I need to make this work?

An Ant+ dongle. If you have the newer MBP, you’ll need a USB-C to A adapter.

I 've used the SUUNTO one for 4+ years. Very reliable. At Amazon

I do have the newer MBP. So, will the USB-C to A adapter power the dongle? For example we have a superdrive (to burn a CD) that won’t work with a newer MBP. Works fine with my wife’s desktop which has a USB-A port.

I use:

This adapter with this dongle and it picks up Ant+ signals. I haven’t used the TR Mac app in a long time since I’ve using the mobile app, but it should work just fine.
