That’s it, being super smooth with the cadence as the resistance increases makes for a great experience.
Which trainer are you using?

FYI, we have an updated PowerMatch coming soon. It is greatly improved but we’re still smoothing out a few rough edges.
Release cycle will go like this:
Sweet! Happy to volunteer and test during phase 2 if needed ![]()
Yes, it looks like your cadence is shooting up in anticipation of the interval, as a result power spikes then the trainer is dropping power then increasing it again. Try to be be very smooth as power ramps up, you’ll be rewarded with a much smoother power output throughout the interval.
Try to set your target cadence about 20 seconds before interval starts and hold as resistance increases.
It sounds like @Nate_Pearson has some things on the go with engineering to help smooth this out even more. I’m still using a Kickr 1 with a crank based PM and it’s been smooth as can be, but that’s using the approach of being as smooth as I can to not to get the power reading / kickr resistance / TR managing out of whack at a critical time.
Can I assume that beta testers will get this? If not, please consider me for the earlier possible release. IV always had trouble with PM on intervals higher than ftp and I’d love to contribute to a solution.
That’s great news! I always had issues with overshoots (painful!) at the start of intervals, even when I paid extra attention to cadence (e.g. spinning up ±10 secs before the interval start). I am now using the Power Meter Link built into my Elite Suito. No more overshoots, but it is quite slow to respond.
Looking forward to try out PowerMatch 2.0!
I’d love to be involved with this testing. I’ve been using powermatch for over a year with a Stages L PM and have had issues a few times. Thanks
Thanks so much! Very helpful and makes sense - should also employ the same discipline on hills in the real world …
Count me in if you have any places left to try out the beta thanks.
I suspect we’ll pull everyone out of this thread with power match issues and give them early access that they can turn on.
This will only be mac/pc for this initial early access, FYI.
U can add me to the list.
Ditto put me on the list; the lag on the Neo2 with V3’s has me running with power match off. But happy to put it back on to help get it back to solid like it was with my P1s
Hi all,
I’ve been using the Kickr snap for about a year. I just purchased the Favero Assioma uno power pedals. I’ve had some issues on my first two rides and wanted to check if this was error on my part?
My two rides are here: Log In to TrainerRoad
Questions:
Any help on this would be a massive help!
Thanks all
Jack
@stanleyjack14 use a lower gearing if you are not already. Looks like you are powering around in a high gear and the snap cant reduce resistance any further to compensate.
The PC version works better for me when it comes to powermatching. I had a long thread with TR directly, sinusoidal issues, etc. Updated TACX FW along with a laptop, better cadence holding (ca. 90 at least 10s prior to interval change) helped a great deal, as well as not being destroyed ![]()
Just reinstalled my Assioma Duos back on my trainer bike and will start experimenting with Powermatch again with my H3. Ramp tested with both (recording separately) last night to see what kind of offset/difference in reading they get and it looked to be a pretty consistent 2%, which is pretty reasonable. I had previously had some issues on picking up on harder efforts but am interested to see what improvements have been made. Please count me in for beta testing!
Count me in for beta testing, having had issues on Android, I moved back to PC version.
Still some inconsistencies in power match…
Power Match didn’t work for me at all.
I tried the following variants:
TR on WIN10 PC:
Vector 3 and Neo2 with ANT +
TR on Android tablet:
Vector 3 and Neo2 with ANT +
I always had drop outs, now I use TR on my Android tablet and Neo2 via BLT, the Vector 3 are connected via ANT+ to my Edge 830, the stupid thing, so I have to handle 2 different FTP’s
But a Beta Test would be interesting!
EDITH: look on my latest tickets!
Happy to be a guinea pig for this beta!
