Did anyone do the Oz Stage Race this past spring? If so, how was it? Well run, worth the cost?
I didn’t race it but am local and went out to watch a couple of days. It looked like it was very well run, with good production around the start finish area, with a finish and start chute , hospitality tent and podiums. Probably as good as I’ve seen outside of Lifetime GP. Aid stations were well manned and stocked. Don’t expect many fans though it seemed like it was more of an event for people to travel in than the local community.
As to whether it was worth the cost (which I believe was around $600) that is tough to say, and it depends on what you are looking to get out of it. If you are a serious racer and looking to place well then it probably is. If your goal is to come and ride the trails and see the area then there are better ways to do so.
