Scott have been using the same geometry on Spark for last 4 models and it works great. I had Spark RC with 100mm travel and for my gravel, off road, mountain riding it’s one do it all bike. Light, snappy rocket uphill and stable on downhills. Specialized have been changing geometry every year with 2021 iteration being very similar to Spark.
Maybe they finally nailed it. I would always try Epic first before buy due to Brain. You will either love it hate it. ![]()
Why both? Is the hard tail really that much different for racing?
PS. Best answer is … cause I can ![]()
He’s sponsored.
I’m completely jealous.
Haha. i’m good at making terrible decisions? The hardtail is about 3 pounds lighter, so good to use for racing. Plus I turned 40, figured wouldn’t hurt to have a FS hahaha. Both bikes are a blast to ride!
20 even if i remember right, Spark is 23.4
They’re a pretty new “boutique” bike brand… I think the launched in 2019? maybe 2020… they make some awesome All-Mountain/Enduro spec bikes… license the suspension design from Canfield. So far all of the reviews have been top notch. The JUST launched the Ranger… the green is killer!
Waiting for the pinkbike review of the ranger (should be coming this week). Yep, lots of good press on these bikes. But pretty heavy. I think PB said that the Ranger on test is weighing in ~27 pounds, the Spur ~25 and the Epic Evo ~22. Now, granted it’ll cost you $12000 to get that 22 pound full suspension bike, but my guess is the $6k version will still be under 25.
Time to make a New XC MTB for 2021-thread?
I’m open to what you guys want. I can possibly merge some of the recent content into the new thread, or we can start a totally fresh one.
Not sure how much would be informative for a new thread. Possible the Pinkbike-tests and after would be good. We’re still awaiting Trek and Scott’s new bike lineup even though much has leaked. Not from Trek’s part though.
I guess Trek has a few 2021 models on their website - although looks to be mainly new colours and the choice between GX and XT
Yeah but someone of the factory riders had taken a picture and edited the bike on the rack. So I guess there’s something in store. Might not be this year though.
Scott is just new paint as well
I’ve been posting in this thread about trail bikes. I started a new thread so this stays focused on XC.
I dig it. “Trail” is my personal interest and will follow that one with even more focus ![]()
Nope. 110mm travel on the RC-bikes as well.
