I could be wrong but I think it is this style that the pro teams use that are made to have the top pop off…

The demands of a sport bottle are very different than a regular bottle of water. The water bottles deform super easily. That’s why they don’t break, because they dent on impact and absorb it. It would do the same thing in a bottle cage and just slip right out. But a sport bottle has to be more rigid so it can be held in a cage (even when half empty). But that rigidity also leads to brittleness. So it will be much more likely to break, especially when it’s filled with 1kg of water.
I got this to replace my Zefal, it seems more snug in the cage and isn’t brittle:
