Best Water Bottle Cages for 800-1000ml bottles?

Current cages really struggle with the Zefal bottles. Especially mid ride. Not sure if it’s the sugary water or swelling but I cannot get them out to the point where I’m loosening the bolts. Folks who use larger bottles what’s your go to cage?

Thanks.

King Cage if you can get them. I have road THOUSANDS of miles over every terrain imaginable…I’ve never lost a bottle, EVER! That includes 1L Zefal Magnum bottles.

I don’t have a problem losing bottles. It’s getting them out of the cage. lol. Also only for road riding so gravel isn’t an issue. I’ll look into them. Thanks.

Edit. Looking for composite/carbon cages for the road bike.

I’ve never had an issue getting any kind of bottle out of them either.

I almost exclusively use the 1L zefal bottles and use Arundel Sport Cages on the road and they’ve been flawless.

They’re plastic but they also sell a Carbon version called the Dave-O. They describe the difference as ‘Modified’ but not sure what that modification is.

Bontrager RL cage. I’ve been using these with my Zefals and other 1L+ bottles and they work great. Easy to remove/replace and never had an ejection.

I’m using these 950ml bottles and the carbon cages. I have not had any issue getting the bottles out even with wet full finger gloves. The bottles are a bit different shape than your bottles but the cages should be ok on yours.

I’ve settled on Arundel Sport cages for normal use and Bontrager side loaders for situations where needed. Both hold bottles very securely but are reasonably easy to get got bottles in an out of.

Another vote for King Cages. Standard on my road & gravel bike. Side loaders on my XCM bike.

I’m curious if anyone with King cages has had experience with the Silca cages. I had good luck with the Silca cages for gravel last year, but the largest bottle I used was only 24oz. I picked up some Soma Further 36oz bottles over the and have yet to try them out on any decently chunky gravel.

I just picked up some Elite Fly 950 mL bottles this weekend. They have the same recess and design as their 750 ml bottles I typically use.

I also use Silca cages and have complete confidence that these bottles will stay in as well as the 750’s. I used the 750’s with the Silca cages on some very very rough gravel/single track courses and haven’t lost any yet.

The bottles are paper thin and super light, so no insulation, but they squeeze well and the nozzle is removable for cleaning. Particularly if you use them with drink mix, you WANT a removable nozzle.

Tacx Deva cages work well with 800mL bottles. Secure and no issues getting bottles out.

I use these, too, with a variety of bottle sizes up to 1L (precision fuel & hydration).

I’ve yet to lose a bottle or struggle to get one free.

I’ve never lost a bottle, and I run camelback 900ml, Trek big bottles, and smaller specialized purist bottles and I even ride with a Contigo coffee thermos from time to time. Because it’s aluminum, I can make it tighter or looser. Pretty cheap at $15 and hasn’t failed me yet.

As suggested King cages are top notch in either Ti or stainless but to be honest any metal cage of that type of design can be adjusted (bent) to give you any level of hold you want.

Thanks. I ordered a couple to try. If they don’t work out I’ll try the Bontrager bottles. I actually have some of those on my old bike and they worked fine.
