Mini Electric Tire Pumps

I’ve got the AS2 Pro and Ultra. I carry the ultra instead of a co2/pump on rides. It’s tiny and impressive. Aside from garage tests I’ve only used it on a friend’s puncture mid-ride, where it was much appreciated.

The Pro is still pretty small but gets you an extra inflation plus.

ok, im just gonna ask here in hope im not gonna get laughed at.

I have 3 different mini pumps, 2 ali express ones, 1 from craft cadence.
At first I thought it was the aliexpress cheapo’s just being stupid. But I now I have the same ‘problem’ with the craft cadence one.

I put the pump on the valve, set it to 4.0 bar (32mm tyres) and it seems to only go to like 2.0 and the tyre is already very hard. If I check with manual pump (with meter) its above 4 bar… or the alternative it doesn’t even blow air in.

It seems I’m doing something wrong, because as I understand it, it should “detect” there’s already a certain amount of air in the tyre and just inflate to whatever I have set. But it doesn’t seem to work correctly and I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong lol

I have one of the Cycplus pumps and notice the same issue every once in a while. When it’s happened to me, it’s been because of a stuck valve stem, where tubeless sealant clogged the valve just enough to make the pump think the tire was at higher pressure. Something similar could be happening with a tube, maybe check to see if the seal is sticking and work it a little?

Got a Silca Ultimate… top quality build and I am getting more ‘fills’ per charge than expected. Game changer for me.

Not worried about replacing the plastic o-ring if needed, it is just a case of walking in to Screwfix in the UK to get a replacement. Plastic o-rings are common & cheap as chips (fries for those in the USA).

Cant fault the Aerogogo one I have and 5 year warranty. £50.

As someone who doesn’t even use electronic shifting because I hate having to charge so many things just to go for a ride, I’m a complete electric pump convert. I’ve been carrying one this season instead of a mini pump, and last week when I got a flat in the middle of the night on a dark, heavily wooded trail after 15 hours/280km of riding, it was so nice to just press a button on my Cycplus and wait a minute to get back to the perfect pressure instead of having to deal with the hassle of pumping and either guessing at the correct pressure or trying to read a pressure gauge in the dark.

Oh man. You are way braver than I am not carrying a mini pump in that situation.

Note self: Be careful pulling your $150 pump off the valve. I’ve used my Silca Ultimate 3 times now. It was kind of hard to pull off the valve after pumping. Pulled too hard and smacked the display on my brake rotor. Put a giant gouge in the screen.

Better than the back of your hand. Ask me how I know

Tangent: I kind of want SRAM or someone to make one of these that takes an AXS battery.

Or build an AXS charging unit into the pump body? Take my $.

Single use CO2 vs slow hand pump vs fast minipump that can pump multiple tires.

A friend of mine has the Craft Cadence. I was sold the first time I was on group ride with him and he whipped it out to get the other rider up and running. I’m not sure how it compares to the Cycplus AS2 Pro but the Craft Cadence sure gets the job done.

I had a very weird flat tire in a race last weekend. The little rubber sealing ring on the back of the presta valve core failed and was allowing air by. In all my years of running tubeless (and with tubes before that), I’ve never seen that happen. Not sure if its a fluke or if its related to using an electic mini pump as my primary tire inflator these days. These things definitely put alot of heat into the valve core. That valve core had only been in service ~4 weeks, as I usually change them out when I top up sealant.

I have a Craft Cadence, and very happy with it. Fits easily in a small saddlebag along with TPU tubes and levers. Best thing is I haven’t touched it since May and it’s still showing a full charge.

has anyone tried one of these electric pumps with Clik Valves without using an adapter?

I use that bad boy with my motorcycles both in the shop and while travelling. Awesome piece of gear.

I cut the end off and fitted a dual schrader/presta attachment which is more useful for bikes :+1:
