Let's see your Titanium builds!

That jazzy front end is fantastic!

Thx for the compliment. Aesthetics were very important when specing out the build. Originally the frame had a seat mast but about 65k in a crack developed at the seat cluster in a weld bead so decided to repair it and go traditional. Went back in with a ti post for the look. Have not ridden it with a carbon post but do think compared to past builds with carbon posts that it rides fine.

Is anyone running a Ti seatpost? I’m thinking about getting one for my Lynskey GR300. I’m running a Whiskey carbon one now, and since I’m a bigger rider I think it might have just a bit too much flex. That, and the Ti post looks :ok_hand:

I have one:

It helps dampen vibrations a little more than my old carbon seat post. I love the ENVE clamp that holds the seat to the post. The change in ride quality is probably equivalent to widening your tires by 2mm. If you have the money and the manufacturer says you’re within the allowed weight range, then maybe go for it. There’s a lot of places to spend money for upgrades. Somebody should create a hierarchy of where to start/what to upgrade first … (in another post)

To be fair, this is partially about the bling factor

I switched from a Ti seatpost to a Roval Terra carbon post which is designed to flex. It is a lot more comfortable. Doesn’t look as good though!

Got a Ribble HT Ti mtb for some trail riding since the Lynskey is doing more indoor training work.

Well, if that’s the case … get a ti seatpost with an etched and anodized logo

I definitely run a ti seat post on my ti bike. I think the important thing to do (for aesthetics) is make sure you match the seat post with the stem. If you currently have a carbo stem or then you might consider switching both.

I run a Ti seatpost on my Ti roadbike…
Heck, i even run a Ti seatpost on my Al CX bike.
My Ti MTB has an Al seatpost though, kind of difficult to find one in that length, but will search for it now.

However, i also like the combination of a Ti bike with “naked” carbon parts though…

And then there were two…

I added this Turner Cyclosys early last autumn to replace an old Vassago Fisticuff cross bike. It has much more relaxed geometry & is comfortable from paved roads to mellow singletrack & anywhere in between.

Finished this Vassago Mooseknuckle build last week. The frame is a crash replacement upgrade from a steel Vassago Verhauen I wrecked. I liked the Verhauen but it felt dead to me. This Moose is likely going to become my go to mtb. The frame is lively & seems to soak up vibes & take the edge off some trail chatter. It’s stiff & responsive when I unleash the force of my massive 800 watt 3 second sprint  I got 2 decent rides on it this weekend & took down a couple segment PRs I set during my peak fitness in 2020 on my full sus geared bike. PRs in February when I’m not fit? This one’s a keeper!

t’s a beautiful bike!

I saw one of your other posts calling it a forever bike, and I don’t know if people on here are really in the market for selling their bikes, but would you be interested in selling?

I used to have an Omega bike also. It was a gift at the time. Sort of started my hobby as a bicyclist. The person who had originally gifted it to me has passed away, and I’ve been scouring the internet trying to find one for sale preferably an XL frame. I would like one for me to have something to remind me of that individual in a way.

They are quite old, and not necessarily “worth” much, but I’d be happy to discuss a price you’d be happy with as they are pretty hard to find. Maybe it could set you up for a more modern upgrade!

Regardless, I hope you are doing well, and recovering quickly so you may be able to hit the road again soon!

I’m building an Enigma Esker (gravel) - Should get it by the end of the month.

Help appreciated on what groupset to fit in:

  1. I am going 1X with a classifed powershift - so looking at just getting a road cassette.
  2. I really want the hood buttons on the shifters, so it’s likely going to be Shimano 11-34 at the back, but torn between:
    a) GRX Di2 (11 speed, and “old” Di2 tech)
    b) Ultegra (12 speed, new Di2 tech, but no derailleur clutch)

What are the experiences using Ultegra / Road derailleur on a gravel bike?

Sorry, @Silent_Mateo I have no thought of selling. However I did see a similar one on ebay a few weeks ago, so they do come up. Also I am only 5’8" so not in the XL range. If you keep an eye out then Titanium Omegas do come up.

Actually I have just upgraded it from 6800 to R8000.

However pm me and lets take this conversation off line.
