I need new race wheels. Advice?

I have Reserve 40|44 and I liked them so much I bought a second set of Reserve 42|49 for a road wheel set. They’re in your price range with a lifetime warranty and tons of great features.

That being said, for $2k I don’t know that any wheel (even for $5k) is going to be a huge or even that noticeable of a performance gain vs your current wheel set. Might be nice to have a spare wheel set if you want to mount a backup set of tires for a course that might change conditions when you arrive or swap a wheel at aid stations if necessary.

Has anyone sized down their wheel to 650b to run wider tires? Curious how that works out and if you’d recommend.

Thinking of doing just that with the Specialized Terra Clx Evo Wheelset. A bit heavy but has 30mm iw. Interesting for a gravel wheelset.

Good to know. It seems like the Hunt Wheels are almost just as pricy as Zipp XPLR Nowadays.

Seems like a lot of people like the Envy wheels. I have been looking online and have yet to find a deal for them, but I just need the wheels before Big Sugar so I can wait.

How exactly do you actually purchase a chosen wheelset on NEXT website? I have gone to look at pricing and all the options and add no’s are so confusing and it dose not actually tell you the price. Or am I doing something wrong?

Yeah that’s a fair call out. I do have a bit of a “Great, I have 2k extra. Must upgrade bike” mentality. I will defiantly give the podcast a listen.

I’m in Canada, so got them from their “Canadian” webstore:

I just saw Hambini recommended these. How is the ride feel? Does it have any vibration damping or do they feel stiff?

I think the low-ish tire pressures I use makes it impossible for any possible differences in stiffness to be noticeable by me.
