Form MTB Leg Length Shim Mounting Tips?

Is anyone else using Form MTB Leg Length Shims? Any tips for mountain them without getting them to slide around when clipping in/out?

I’ve tried blue loctite and after a 5hr ride without much unclipping, it had loosened up quite a bit by the end.

With CX season coming up, I’m hoping to find a solution.

I use XTR pedal on one side and XT on the other side. That way I get a small difference without having to use shims. Shims on MTB shoes result in cleat being exposed on one side when walking/running which I don’t like.

Andrew…I had the same issue the week before Leadville and wrote to the company, here is their response:

Thanks for the email. This is a problem a couple of riders have had recently, and I’m not sure why it is, possibly the material make up of the cleat plate has changed, or perhaps the processing was different.

So, there are two possible solutions;

1) Tighten the cleat much tighter than you have (there is no recommended torque setting but you can tighten down very tight, up to 6 / 6.5Nm)
2) I can send you two new cleat plates which are made from a harder material. This has been the solution I have given to others.

In either case the fact that your current cleat plates have "drag" marks from the cleat slipping, I think new cleat plates are in order.

I just received the cleat plates this week and have not had the chance to put them on.

With item 1 above, I found that if I tightened them to 6 Nm the cleat would not engage as it would deform into the plastic. I ended up around 3 to 4 Nm and actually cut away some of the plastic on the front and rear so the cleat would engage which was my temporary fix to get through Leadville without any slippage.

My suggestion is to reach out and request the new plates, the owner is very responsive and sent me two pairs free of charge.

Not sure why the text is cut off, trying again:
