So here’s my advice based on my racing experience. In a crit there is tons of exelerations, it isn’t a very evenly paced thing. I would go a little lighter, because rotational wait makes the biggest difference while accelerating. I also am a big fan of tubular for all kinds of racing. As far as depth goes, I’d go with a 50mm, that’s what I’ve been running. It is lighter than the 60, but more aero than the 40. A good buddy of mine swears by 38mm wheels, but he is more of a sprinter. Also unlikely for you to be able to tt off the front in a crit. In my experience at cita the winner is determined by the field sprint at the end. Right now I’m looking at mavic cosmic carbon tubular wheels, they are a 40mm. If you go w/ tubular, defenatly recomend the continental compete pro Ltd tires.
