"Cheating" my way through a threshold-ordeal

Same! At 60yo, I find I can rely on aerobics and no longer power. (My days of pushing a 42x25 as “climbing gears” are long over.) I rarely ride below 95 unless climbing.

If you do the work, you’re not cheating. You’ll stay with the group no matter what cadence you’re spinning if you’re meeting the required resistance. (I’ve never been told my win wasn’t valid because of my cadence!)
