Canceled races = saved race registration fees. Unexpected benefit...upgrades?

I was looking over my canceled races and realized I’ve saved around $250 so far from race fees. And if this keeps going, it could be $600+ by the end of summer. Two realizations. First, holy crap race fees sure add up. I guess I never thought about it when it’s $20-30 at a time. Perhaps it was denial. I don’t want to think about how much I’m spending on racing. Second, with all the money I’ve saved, looks like I can make a few upgrades to the fleet. I may go ahead and get a power meter for my cross bike. What are you guys going to do with the race fee savings?
