Much prefer VO2 outdoors too, actually enjoy it too. For that same reason, I don’t want any sort of buzzkill. Quite happy just to gun it at 110% for 9mins, though indoors I’d want the over/under for the recovery.
Totally the same. Doing a 3 min vo2 interval on the trainer hurts and I can’t finish them all. Outside I can do them at a higher power, and longer. No idea why!

I prefer Tempo outdoors, just enough to get me motivated but not out of control in winter. I quite liked Electra when I did it as it varied often. I am not good at holding power on a descent though.
