Best Racing Gravel Bike 2026

I am just excited and waiting for the prices and (shimano) configurations on the canyon grail. I hope most people look elsewhere so I can get a chance to snap the bike at a discount

I can’t see canyon discounting that bike anytime soon. That’s one disadvantage with the direct to consumer model, harder to negotiate a deal on a newly released bike when there is only a single source selling it. On the flip side, I’ve found deals on the newest/hottest releases with LBS’s since they are in competition with other LBS’s who can stock/order the same bike. Direct to consumer might still end up cheaper even if it’s full price, but I typically find caynon’s pricing pretty similar to getting a discounted bike from an LBS.

I’m loving what I’ve read about the new Grail and the other new aero gravel bikes with big tire clearance. Maybe it’s just selective coverage, but it seems like every bike they are showing from the Traka has MTB tires on it.

I’ve been told Canyon Europe works a little different. I will be traveling later this year so high hopes as the new grail seems to have everything I want on a bike right now.

I think you are right though. Pricing won’t be awesome.

Damn! This actually looks just as good (if not better???) than the new Crux…

Bad stock wheels, heavy, probs rides like a plank, questionable aero. I’d go with a crux

Zipp XPLR wheels are the best gravel wheel I have ever ridden personally…

I don’t see a weight but it probs isn’t light. Not sure how you can comment on ride quality, 55mm tires should help offset that no? Why questionable aero exactly?

If you don’t agree with something there is no need to be an about it lol.

Not being very excellent with that response.

Thinking I may pull the trigger on a Lauf Seigla.

The Xlab seems like great value, but they aren’t available yet. Ari Shafer peak looked alright too, but not really wanting to wait 6-8 weeks for a bike.

Any other bikes out in that price range worth checking out? 3-4k

I was excited about this until no frame only option and whacked Stack and Reach for my needs.

I’ve owned a lot of bikes and the Seigla is #1 based on seeing real improvement in my race results and fun factor to ride. I wish it were more aero and wish it had downtube storage, but I’d have a hard time giving it up for anything else (regardless of price). I guess maybe one of the newer aero bikes with a Lauf fork might win out, but I’m still very happy on the Lauf.

It’s fake.

AI slop.

Ah shit didn’t look at geo too closely. Super short reach or what? That’s where felt messed up imo

Hard to beat the bang for buck you get with the Seigla. Always been on my short list if I were to go full gravel rig vs my 2020 Crux. Used to have a revolt. Was a blast and also good value.

Since I still do around 10-15 cx races a season, having the bike catered more to that than gravel is better for me. If I could find a current gen crux, I’d be all over it.

Or, the Tideace Noah could be an option I thought about to build cheaply to go with my crux.

Recent bought the Zipp XPLR after previously riding firecrest, roval (old ones) and 404s and the XPLR are noticeably better both aero wise and compliance on rough gravel. For $1800 on BTD they are well worth the money.

Yep.

I don’t understand why :man_shrugging:t2:

You really have to ride a lot of gravel to really appreciate how good the Lauf is. Its pretty boring on the road (no gravel by me unfortunately). I am not convinced aero frames provided any noticeable speed benefits in gravel racing, especially if ride quality is sacrificed.

I am really interested to see what the new Crux offers. That bike is tons of fun to ride (even if I think the Lauf is better on gravel). If it rides as good as my SL8, just on gravel, I would switch.

Zipp gets lots of hate but personally the XPLR and 303 Firecrest are my favorite wheels and cover everything for me. I’ve put both through the wringer too. Never even had to replace bearings or true them despite biking through thunderstorms, 240+ miles, and copious amounts of mud number times

I’ve tried Rovals and Reserve. Both great in their own right but I just keep coming back to my Zipps. Personally wish their 303sw were a bit more of an update from 303 Firecrest tho. The pressure sensor is cool but idk if I need and feel it might just be more of a pain (another battery, special tubes, etc).

Glad you like your Zipps tho too!

Honestly, these brands can pound sand. The prices are ridiculous. $6500 for a Rival bike with aluminum wheels? I think my next bike is going to be from a Chinese brand.
