ASSOS fire sale?

every once in a while I go to the ASSOS website and drool over their clothing, but never pull the trigger because its so pricey.
Today i’m looking and most things are more then 50% (much is 80%)…
it seems to good to be true…
does anyone have an insight?

Nothing is on sale in the states

thank you for checking…I was on a website ASSOSsale.com (or something like that)
it was a really good fake…i almost got fooled.

They are many places like this… they do a deep copy, and create a fake thing… everything to the checkout looks like the real thing… they even put ssl certs

The old rule still applies - If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.

Check out Bike Closet. I’ve gotten a number of Assos deals from them.

I won’t ride anything but Assos bibs and knickers. No other pad has agreed with me as well. I can always find a $250 pair of shorts for 50% off. They last a very long time. My oldest pair is 5 years old and still look good. They get mostly trainer duty now.

I used to ride Pearl Izumi and Castelli and those bibs did not last nearly as long as Assos.

Thanks! Will check

I really used to like Castelli. In fact I still do. The progetto x2 air is in fact a very comfortable chamois but there are 3 gel pads inside which unfortunately don’t last very long, unlike the assos s9 (and hopefully my s11 and c2 will too)

I used to love Pearl Izumi bibs - not their cheap ones either. I’d get a new set and they’d feel like the most comfortable bibs I’ve ever had. That glow would fade and within a year, they would feel like a torture device.

I honestly don’t know what was happening because they still looked almost new. Maybe all the foam in the pad breaks down such that there is essentially no pad?

All I know is that Assos pads have those high density foam strips sewn to the bottom side of the pad. They don’t break down and they form a channel like a saddle with a cut out giving you more clearance down the center.

I got lucky and found the Assos outlet a few years ago, as they were switching to the new clothing line. Got some great bibs that are still going.

Haven’t seen any good Assos gear on the site in well over a year. Probably have to wait on the next product line change.
