amen
Signed up for the DAMn (especially since sadly it’s the last one!), GRVL DRMA 2 is less than a month away and a good prep (we plan to ride the course on the 29th) and Freedhem 76 in June. I’d like to win the DAMn, but Kate Coward is basically pro and had an hour on me last year…then again, I wasn’t training at all and we had two weeks to prep so I’m hoping my gravel focused efforts and training will pay off!
Also, reading your description of Le Gran Du Nord I think you’d be fine for the DAMn, it’s really not as taxing as all that (especially with aero bars as another bike position) and while the hills in Red Wing and Henderson at the end are HARD, it’s mostly flat and not a very technical course (which would help me in my battle for 1st place female but oh well). You should try the GRVL drama course, that or we’re also planning to do Ragnarok 105 in the next couple of weeks too!
@vhudacek Good luck to you, I know you’re one of the fastest ladies in the state so I’m sure more prep this season WILL pay off!
My sweet spot seems to be the sub-75 mile events. Those are better suited to my current training volume and just overall ability. I really struggle at anything longer, but that’s probably been more due to just not pushing out my longer rides in preparation and building a deeper base fitness. I’d love to do GRVL Drama, looks brutally fun and Ben is a nice guy.
I hope to see you at Freedhem!
