i use foam pipe covering on my handle bars and the sweat catcher over the top tube. I also use the foam pipe cover on my top tube as well. I am super OCD about my bike being clean and wipe it down after every trainer ride since it only takes a minute or two. In regards to what i use to wipe down, i use Optimum No Rinse.
This stuff is great and i use it to clean just about everything including my car, windows, glasses etc.
