Why am I running 9-46t MTB?

Yeah. this is what i was trying to get at. Utah is rocky, to say the least.

I guess i’ve gotten used to doing lots of climbing on the 46 and assumed that I am doing fine. but i haven’t tested a 46 vs 50 over a long day to determine if i am handicapping myself.
I have True Grit 50 coming up in a week. If i had a 50 on hand i could try it and compare my time to 2019, but too many factors are changed to call it a scientific study.
