It’d be nice to get off the trainer. Admittedly, I’ve been off it more than on it this winter. Really looking forward to REAL riding. Even if it means still waiting another few months for the trails to dry up some. I can still ride the MTB on the pavement and fine tune. I hope your parts show up sooner than later. My patience has been tested waiting to get a ride on the new e-shifting.
I just joined also to reply to this.
I’ve had wheeltop on my rim brake 10 speed touring bike for just over a year now, so maybe 5k miles or 8k km.
I prefer rim brakes but love electronic shifting so this seemed the only option. As others say the initial setup is a pain but once you learn the app it is very flexible. Always make sure you are on the smallest cog before initial calibration. It is a pain if you confuse it.
The longest ride i have done was from london to carnac in france over 3 days via portsmouth/st malo ferry. So maybe 80-100 km per day. The batteries were still 85 per cent full at the end.
I’ve just turned my touring bike into my road bike and swapped from 10 speed touring wheels to 11 speed quantum carbon wheels. Setting it up again for a different cassette was easy and the micro adjust facility is very good.
I think that the firmware upgrades have improved the from mec over time. Not sure what they do but every now and again i download them.
For me the beauty of this groupset is that i can keep all my old rim brake bikes going into the future enjoying the benefits of electronic shifting.
