I have had excellent luck using Cyclami TPU tubes from Ali. I only use them as back ups to my tubeless setup but they work well and it it very nice that they pack up so small, taking up less than half the space of a butyl tube in a saddle pack. Overall I still prefer tubeless. More hassle at setup but much better over the useful life of the tire. At this point I have been on tubeless long enough to experience virtually every conceivable failure mode and still they are my preferred method.
Thanks.
I’ve been on tubeless for like 7 years without a single flat but I’m riding my road bike very little outside now and would rather not maintain it going forward.
I’ll keep my gravel and mountain bikes on tubeless for sure.
No flats in 6 years? Wow you ride on nice roads and are pretty lucky. Give me 6 months without a flat and I feel very lucky.
I think that’s the one area of my life where I may be lucky. ![]()
I ride mostly on single/two-track, gravel, and chipseal these days..
Nice roads only last one summer in Wisconsin.

While I cannot say I’ve been riding for years without a flat, what I can say is that in 20 years of using tubeless wheels and tires that there have been so many times I did puncture and keep riding without even realizing I had an issue that it makes tubeless worthwhile. Probably the singular situation I vividly remember is one ride coming home in the dark during a December ride and did not know I punctured until I pulled up to my front door and saw sealant all over the back of the bike. In the very cold darkness not having to stop was great. No chance that is even possible with any other system.
