Just a note on that: AT is not a panacea, it doesn’t magically make TR into a simple turnkey solution. E. g. I needed to manually adapt some workouts to set the right progression levels to make sure that AT suggests the right kind of workouts to me. As it is now, AT is way too conservative for me, its reductions to my progression levels are way too large.
Overall, though, AT is still a significant improvement, especially once you learn how to use it. You understand the structure of training plans a lot better and you can follow your progress in the various energy systems. IMHO we should not necessarily be comparing it to AT how we imagine it could be, but compare it to TR as it was before.
And clearly, it is just the first step in a new direction. One of the things I’m missing is a history of my progression levels plus FTP (because your progression levels will decrease when your FTP increases). A lot can be done by simply making that new data accessible to the user.
All of this. It’s too much on the conservative side if left alone. Still a huge improvement. The new information and framework is much easier to work within and not blow myself up. Still could use improvement, but it is in secondary details that probably won’t impact my fitness gains nearly as much as my user experience.
