Wont miss that at all.
Anybody have a way to watch this? Not seeing anything on the site or their socials for a live feed.
They are posting some live updates on the Instagram page.
Considering they likely have a helicopter why not do a youtube live and then post highlights later like Cape Epic?
Live streaming from a helicopter requires a decent amount of coverage and overhead expense that Lifetime has been unwilling to spend in past years.
I was hoping they’d spring for it this year - given the improvement in getting summary videos out the week after each race last year a live stream would have been a natural progression for this year - but I guess now the best we can hope for is that they don’t backslide away from recaps the week following the event
I’ve got a live feed on instagram. No commentary, but seeing people on bikes…
Edit - guy in riding in a ranger with the front of the men’s race giving real time commentary. not exactly TDF helicopter coverage, but a good feel for the front of the race and some chase groups
Kicking up the dirt for the riders but appreciate the coverage!
Edit- sorry, women’s results were incomplete, only at the 74 mile split. But Haley does have a pretty big lead. I believe the men’s results are final.
Yikes 38 for DJ? Looks like Payson had a DNF
Lots of road segments. Maybe was the MTB tires?
Just watched a live feed and it looked like it was a battle between Sofia and Cecily for first, but according to that athlinks it looks like Haley got first and they were battling for second?
Keegan was probably sandbagging the entire time at Cape Epic to trick Beers into losing Sea Otter…
But seriously, I logged into the live feed a handful of times today and just about every clip of the men’s race had Matt Beers pulling at the front. Without knowing the context of the situations, it’s hard to say it’s poor tactics, but it sure seems like Beers just likes to hurt the group and make the race hard more than he likes to win. Could a fresher Beers have beaten Keegan at the end? I don’t know, but it sure looked like Keegan had to go deep for a close win.
Hayley Batten isn’t in the LTGP field? But maybe she’ll be be in there following the wild card process later on… bit of a shambles, potentially.
any idea why Payson didn’t line up to race? He posted yesterday saying he would race and talking about the new Allied Able
I think he started, but pulled the plug.
In the post race interview, she said she’s in the US right now to be close to her mother who is fighting cancer. Sounds like she’s hoping to race world cup at some point this year.
Sounds like Sofia got really sick after Cape Epic…she still had a cough in her post-race interview.
There was another LTGP clip at around mile 22 showing Payson starting to pedal again, after being off the bike trying to sort out a mechanical issue. The announcers didn’t even really try to guess what the issue was, but he was pedaling really slow (like maybe he couldn’t shift?).
I was wondering why she wasn’t in Brazil last weekend….f*ck cancer.
According to a video clip, it looked like he crashed hard. His right side was full of dirt, and he was struggling to pedal his bike. Possible concussion as he was a bit wobbly.
