It doesn’t work like that. The world tour riders generally do what their teams direct them to do and have minimal pull to step outside that box. There may be some deviations from that (like EF’s alternative program), but most WT teams have their buckets full trying to be successful at WT events. With limited global media coverage of these us gravel events, it’s just not that interesting for the sponsors. We will keep getting a few WT riders fitting these events into their schedule, but it will be the exception to the rule unless something changes. Very little upside for marquee riders like wout or tade, lots of downside.
