I mostly agree with you but in regards to buying the used bike to use as a dedicated trainer bike, good luck finding one with reconfigurable electronic shifting that can replicate any gear ratio imaginable and adjustability to accommodate different sized riders on the same frame.
4K is not an appealing price to me, but the current 2.2K sale price for the V1 is. If it weren’t for the lack of motion I’d have jumped at that price.
