I am talking about temps well up into the 80’s or higher…

If temps are well into the 80s, you’re not going to replace all the fluid you’ll sweat out. But either way, you are better off replacing more of it and earlier with uninsulated bottles.
I am well aware of my hydration needs and preferences…again, two large bottles is all I need for a 3 hour ride, even in hot weather. So why wouldn’t I drink cold liquids instead of warm / hot liquids? My consumption rate will not change.
I have been riding in the 90F + lately. I find the Fly 950ml work pretty good. Extra water. Ice cold at first, keeps my core temperature down. The second bottle will be warm even if I fill it with ice. I used Polar plastic insulated bottles last year but they really didn’t stay cold for very long.
You can be topped up hydration wise and not needing to be pounding water every 10 minutes on the bike lmao.
Never had good luck with them, either….Camelbak Podium Chill bottles work far better, IME.
I will also completely freeze one or both bottles the night before if possible. If you do that, the second bottle will will still be pretty cool by the time you get to it, if not still cold / partially frozen.
