Why do I get so many rest days suggested?

Hi All

Fairly new user to TR, however an experienced triathlete and I am confident I have a good understanding of where my body is at during any training cycle.

Question is, I am using a triathlon program provided by TR, however it seems to suggest I rest far more often than I would otherwise and more than I feel is necessary. After completing a bike session today which I rated as moderate (as expected), the software is now telling me to rest instead of run tomorrow? I certainly don’t feel like a I need a rest day and I only just had one on the day prior to the bike session.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I’ve actually just read a similar post.

I’ll follow the advice on that one and carry on as I feel and see if the software catches up, given it hasn’t got a long history to go off.

That feature is there to protect you from fatigue, but if it’s getting in your way, you can turn it off in your account settings. :backhand_index_pointing_down:

You can turn off how we automatically adjust your workouts on its own, or Fatigue Detection as a whole.

This isn’t the recommended route, but it’s an option if you need it.

Let me know your thoughts.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

If you have recently not been regularly training then fatigue management will flag up a lot - use this to remind yourself to break yourself back in slowly.

After a month or two of consistent training, the reds will disappear and yellows start to reduce.
