What new XC MTBs are expected in 2026?

geo chart! we need geo chart!

Looks like a few mm here and there + or -, really really close at least for my size M frameset.

new Canyon Word Cup CFR launched today, already on Canyon’s site

Wow, nice bike and well specced for my tastes. I did not have a great experience with Canyon when I had to warranty my road bike or when I had to replace the stem (non standard steerer), so I’m not sure if I’d buy another one…especially a MTB, but I’d consider this. I can’t find rear travel anywhere on the page, but I’m assuming it’s 120.

I read that the new Lux is a 120/110 bike. Think it was on escape collective.

Saw a post with some shots of a new Spark out testing on course.

Looks like they are doing something interesting with the shock position.

Also spotted/reported today on Escape Collective:

I think it’s interesting that the two-point-pivot shock layout from the Canyon Lux has been adopted (though inverted) by Giant with their newest Anthem, and now Specialized with the Epic 9.

With Specialized and Canyon releasing new 29er bikes and Trek, Scott and others riding prototype 29ers I wonder if 32s are further off than we think or not coming at all to mainstream XC. I am in the market for a new MTB but am afraid to buy a 29er if it will be obsolete in a few years.

That was the comment I made a few days ago. I have no crystal ball. But I am getting an Epic 9

I’d say watch for about halfway thru the race season.

We’ll just have to wait and see, don’t we?

Yeah. That new Canyon looks pretty good overall and competitive at 21.7 lb. The last bike I bought with a Shimano drivetrain was my Santa Cruz Blur in 2004. Since, mtb, road, and gravel all have had SRAM.

CF9 coming soon- 25.3#, $5500 with Eagle 90. Seems like a much better bet than Epic 9 Comp.

It’s a miss when companies refuse to sell a frameset only. I’m buy a Lux frame. Same w Argon 18. Lost sales (to me at least)

Has anyone heard anything about an updated Santa Cruz Blur?
